What could be better than a stroll in the park on a summer’s day, saving lives with every step you take?
Organized by the Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), PAWSwalk is much more than a fun 5k walk or run in the park. Donations from PAWSwalk supporters help fund critical care for injured, orphaned and homeless cats, dogs and wild animals with nowhere else to turn.
Since the first walk in 1992, PAWSwalk has helped PAWS give thousands of animals in need that second chance at a happy, healthy life.
Want to take part? Here’s how to get started ...
1. Register Online
Everyone is welcome! You don’t have to have a dog to take part, but if you do they’re more than welcome to join us—in fact we’d be disappointed if they didn’t. Register individually or as part of a team. Even if you live far away and can't join us in person, you can still virtually walk with us. Registration, which includes an official PAWSwalk t-shirt and bandanna, is $25 per adult and $15 for children 12 and under.** Please note that "walk-up" registrations (the day of August 26th) will be increased to $45 per adult (registration for children 12 and under will remain at $15).
Follow this link to register now!
**If you are joining us virtually, and would like your t-shirt and bandanna mailed to you, a shipping cost of $6 will be added to your registration fee.
2. Collect Donations
Once you're registered, you will be directed to set up your own personal fundraising page through Everyday Hero. Share your page with everyone you know, whether by email or social media, so they can support you by giving online. There are prizes for our top youth, adult and team walkers, so spread the word! Use #2017PAWSwalk so we can follow your fundraising journey too.
Feeling creative? How about a yard sale, lemonade stand or a hula-hoop-a-thon to help you reach your fundraising goal?
3. Then Come Bark in the Park!
Join 1,200 animal fans and their dogs for the 5k walk and fun run on August 26, 2017 at King County’s Marymoor Park. Once you're done walking or running, keep the celebration going by enjoying animal-friendly food trucks, dog agility demonstrations, adoptable PAWS dogs, a mimosa garden and more!
Can’t make it? And don't want to walk with us virtually? We’ll miss you! But you can still help the animals at PAWS by donating at www.paws.org/pawswalk.
On your marks, get ready and put your best foot forward for the animals at PAWS!
